so after a very stressful two days of traveling, i have finally arrived. this is going to be a long post because i am going to tell all about traveling to turkey...

so as i said goodbye to family and friends in richmond, i headed through security. in my frantic packing, and trying to keep my bag under 50 pounds, i forgot about the whole liquids in carryon thing. so i had to throw some things away, including my toothpaste :( luckily i packed two travel tubes, too. after getting past security, i went and waited for my first flight. we boarded on time, but then preceded to wait on the runway for about 20 minutes. JFK apparently would not let us take off yet. we finally get in the air and actually hang out in the air for another 30 minutes. so by the time i landed at JFK, i had approximately 50 minutes to find my terminal, check in, go through security again, and get to my gate.

firstly, i must say this. i do not lıke JFK. i landed at the delta terminal and had no idea where i was going or how to get there. i ended up going up to someone and asking, but they apparently didnt know english? the person next to them sort of helped me out. she told me to head towards the tram and go one stop. so i booked it to the tram, then had to figure out which way to go. i finally got to the right terminal and saw that my flight had been delayed by 15 minutes. so i checked in, got through security and found my gate. by this point, all i wanted to do was sleep.

so we boarded and i found out i was in the middle between two people. not fun. and there was a family with two little kids in front of me. the kids literally did not stop screaming and crying. we sat in the plane for an hour before the captain said "another 45 minutes wait." ............ we finally take off. i wanted to sleep but knew i had to wait for food. and it was well worth the wait. the food was the best airplane food i had ever had. there were shrimp!

my time has run out currently. more later.
